Welcome to Eddystone Model Flying Club (EMFC). We fly RC model aircraft from farmland off Sandy Lane, Buckland-tout-Saints near Kingsbridge. Our flying field is in the heart of the scenic Devon countryside.
The club focuses on powered fixed wing aircraft, but dose allow helicopters, gliders, and multi-rotors.
The club is affiliated to the BMFA, therefore we adhere to their standards of safety and codes of conduct.
The club uses the BMFA Achievement Scheme as a basis for assessing pilot safety and competence. Members without the necessary certification may only fly when other club members are present. Beginners/novices are required to be accompanied by a Member Instructor using a buddy system if appropriate. Members in this category ('Improvers') are encouraged to put themselves forward as a candidate for Certification test as soon as they have sufficient experience.
Flying is permitted year round between 10am – Dusk on Monday - Friday and on weekends. This is subject to weather and ground conditions. There is also on site parking behind the pit area and a toilet.
EMFC is an inclusive club and currently has around 35 members, ranging in age and ability. There is an active committee to support the club day to day running.
